Beautiful Beach Village—Placencia Belize
Placencia Sidewalk Art Fest
Last weekend we attended our first big event—the Placencia Sidewalk Art Festival. Placencia is roughly a 3 hour drive from us (Belmopan) so we weren’t too excited about the long journey to get there. But, we had forgotten just how beautiful the drive down to the Southern part of Belize was. If you have never traveled the Hummingbird Highway in Belize, you simply must! Although long and curvy, it is seriously the most beautiful highway in Belize, and like us, you can’t help but enjoy the long drive.
Our team met so many great people at the Fest and so many very talented artists! Artists and vendors lined the stretch of the sidewalk to showcase their different products. Belizeans are surely blessed with creativity and below you can see three of our favorite pieces from the event. By the time we got to Alex Sanker, his beautiful Marie Sharp piece was already sold but we have a photo of it in our See and Taste Belize blog.
Placencia was welcoming and we are thankful for all those who stopped by to support us and learn about our work with youth in Belize. People flooded our booth to shop and our top sellers were our Belize 1981 Axe and Paddle, Fi Wi Kontry, and Baymen’s Clan Tees! Most of all, they especially loved our famous You Had Me Collection. Below are a few photos from our time in Placencia and if you’d like to see more please see our post on Facebook. We can hardly wait for another trip to Placencia, and hope it’s before the next Art Fest!
