Life has a funny way of throwing us into seasons that do not follow the script we had in mind.

The calendar might say one thing but our hearts and minds are feeling something completely different. Everyone else might be blooming while you feel bare. Or maybe you are in a season where things look good on paper and on screen but inside you feel extremely unsettled. It is confusing and it can be tempting to just wait for a better season to come along.

But here is the truth. There is still joy to be found here. Even when the season makes no sense.

Not every chapter in your life will come with neat explanations or clear answers. Some seasons are simply there to stretch you, slow you down, or show you something you cannot see yet. When you stop trying to make every moment make sense, you open yourself up to experiencing it for what it is, not what you wish it would be.

In a season that feels confusing, joy rarely comes in big bursts. It often shows up in little things. A conversation that makes you laugh until your stomach hurts. A cup of coffee that feels like a hug. The way sunlight pours into your window at just the right time. In seasons like this, joy is quiet but it is still there if you are willing to notice it.

You do not have to choose one emotion over the other. You can be grateful and frustrated at the same time. You can be joyful and still confused. Making room for both allows joy to be real, not something you are forcing yourself to feel. I think we sometimes forget that two things can be true at the same time. Emotions coexist and you should never feel guilty for the moments one may overcome the other.

Just as the seasons change year round environmentally, the season you are in now will not last forever. You may not be able to predict what is next but you can keep your heart open until it arrives. That openness is a quiet kind of joy, a sign that hope is still alive even when things do not add up.

The beauty of a season that makes no sense is that it can still hold laughter, lessons, connection, and grace, a whole lot of grace. You do not have to wait for everything to be clear before you start living. Joy does not need perfect conditions to grow.

Sometimes the seasons we understand the least are the ones that leave us with the most to be grateful for when we look back. So find the will to live in it.
